No severity ratings or metrics are available. When they are, we'll update the corresponding info on the page.
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description The Linux kernel contains a race condition within the Bluetooth implementation, specifically in the interaction between socket binding and socket write iteration. This condition can lead to a use-after-free issue where memory is freed and then subsequently accessed, potentially causing system instability or crashes. The issue occurs due to unsynchronized access to command structures during socket binding and writing, as reported by a fuzzing tool. The vulnerability is related to the hci sock sendmsg function and involves the mgmt pending remove and mgmt pending add functions.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
