Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description The Linux kernel contains a flaw in the unwinder that can lead to a system crash due to unaligned memory access. This issue occurs when the unwinder attempts to read the previous stack pointer from memory, triggering an unalignment trap handler and potentially causing a spinlock recursion and deadlock. The problem was reported by Guenter Roeck on an emulated B160L machine during stack trace creation. The fix involves checking memory alignment before access.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
