No severity ratings or metrics are available. When they are, we'll update the corresponding info on the page.
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
The Comedi low-level driver "c6xdigio" has a flaw related to parallel port Plug and Play (PNP) resource management. The driver incorrectly handles PNP driver registration and unregistration, potentially leading to an "Unexpected driver unregister!" warning. This occurs because the driver may attempt to unregister the PNP driver without having successfully registered it first. The issue stems from the driver's attach and detach handlers, which were modified to perform PNP driver operations at module init and exit time instead. This incorrect handling was detected by Syzbot.
Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
