CVE-2025-68368

None

No severity ratings or metrics are available. When they are, we'll update the corresponding info on the page.
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description The Linux kernel contains a flaw within the md subsystem, specifically in the mddev init function. The issue arises because IO operations might be required before md run(), such as updating metadata after writing to sysfs. Without a proper bioset initialization, this can lead to a NULL pointer dereference. The call trace indicates the issue occurs within md update sb, new level store, and md attr store. A reproducer involves using mdadm to create a RAID array and then manipulating the array state through sysfs.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
