CVE-2022-50710

None

No severity ratings or metrics are available. When they are, we'll update the corresponding info on the page.
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description A flaw exists in the Linux kernel related to the initialization of transmit timestamps (tx tstamps) when new transmit rings are created via the ethtool utility. Specifically, when the number of queues is modified using ethtool, new rings are allocated without proper initialization of the tx tstamps field. This results in a zero value for tx tstamps due to kcalloc allocation, potentially leading to a NULL pointer dereference during transmit timestamp operations on the newly created ring.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
