Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
The Linux kernel contained an issue within the virtio vdpa component related to the conditional building of affinity masks. The initial implementation attempted to build these masks unconditionally, which could lead to issues when parent devices lacked affinity support or when the number of queues exceeded the number of CPUs. This could trigger a warning during operation. The fix ensures affinity masks are built only when the driver passes an affinity descriptor or when the parent supports affinity setting configuration operations. This resolves the warning and potentially improves optimization.
Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
