Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel versions prior to 5.19.0-rc6
Description
The Linux kernel contains a flaw within the mt76 mt7921e driver that can lead to a crash during module removal (rmmod) in a stress test scenario involving rapid module loading and unloading (insmod/rmmod). The issue arises from a missing check for the availability of
mt76 dev data before the mt7921 pci remove() function is called, potentially causing a memory access error. This can occur when attempting to cancel work timers during the removal process.Recommendations
Update to a newer version of the Linux kernel that addresses this issue.
