CVE-2022-50724

None

No severity ratings or metrics are available. When they are, we'll update the corresponding info on the page.
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description The Linux kernel contains a resource leak within the regulator register() function. During fault injection testing, resource leak reports were observed, specifically related to unreferenced objects and memory leaks when handling overlay nodes, such as /i2c/pmic@64/regulators/buck1. The issue occurs because resources are not properly released in error paths after calling regulator resolve supply(), leading to memory leaks. The regulator put() function needs to be called to release these resources. The backtrace indicates involvement of functions like kmalloc trace(), device private init(), device add(), regulator register(), devm regulator register(), and rt5190a probe().
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
