Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
A flaw exists in the Linux kernel related to SPMI driver removal. Specifically, a crash can occur due to a NULL pointer dereference if an SPMI driver being removed does not have a remove callback defined. This issue was observed when removing the QCOM SPMI PMIC driver. The fix involves adding a check for the presence of a remove callback before attempting to call it during driver removal. This ensures that the callback is only invoked when it is actually defined, preventing the potential for a NULL pointer dereference and subsequent system crash.
Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
