Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
A flaw exists in the Linux kernel’s RDMA/bnxt re component related to handling completions after queue pair (QP) destruction. Hardware may generate completions even after a QP is destroyed, potentially leading to a race condition between
destroy cq and poll cq functions. This can result in a kernel panic if completion handlers are scheduled after the QP is destroyed and the completion queue (CQ) is freed. The issue occurs because the driver may continue scheduling completion handlers for a destroyed QP, leading to a race condition. A kernel panic can occur during the bnxt re driver load/unload process, specifically during polling after the CQ is freed.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
