Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
The Linux kernel contains a flaw within the ntfs3 file system, specifically in the
indx insert into buffer function. A reported out-of-bounds (OOB) read bug occurs when the INDEX BUFFER member of the indx node structure is incorrect, leading to a potential OOB read during a memmove operation within the indx insert into buffer function. This issue is triggered when the value of le32 used is greater than the value of le32 total in the INDEX HDR structure. The hdr find e() function is involved in this process.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
