Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
A memory leak exists in the Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI) System Software Interface (SSIF) component of the Linux kernel. The
ssif info find() function, used during adapter scanning, can leak memory when called multiple times. Specifically, if the adapter information originates from SMBIOS, the function sets info->adapter name. Subsequent calls to the function without checking for a pre-existing value can lead to a memory leak.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
