Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description The Linux kernel contains an issue within the md/raid5 component. A double-free condition can occur during chunk-sized reads on disks with badblocks due to an unnecessary bio put() call in the raid5 read one chunk() function. This occurs when the error path is triggered after a change in the code moved the badblock check before the bio clone operation, leading to a double free of memory associated with bad device blocks. The issue is triggered when processing I/O requests and can lead to system instability.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
