Description The Linux kernel contains a flaw within the f2fs filesystem implementation. Specifically, during the unmount process (umount()), if a copy-on-write error (cp error) is set, the f2fs wait on all pages() function may not properly handle writeback of F2FS WB CP DATA pages. This can lead to a non-zero fsync node num after f2fs wait on all pages() completes, resulting in a kernel bug at fs/f2fs/super.c:1627. The issue stems from a potential deadloop within f2fs wait on all pages(). To prevent this, the fix involves dropping all dirty pages instead of attempting to redirty them. The xfstest generic/361 test case highlights this behavior.

Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
