Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
The Linux kernel contains a flaw within the ath11k module related to the handling of data transmission after client connections. Specifically, the
hw ops->get ring selector() function is called during data sending, but for IPQ5018 platforms, this member is not initialized, leading to a NULL pointer dereference. This can result in a system crash. The crash occurs during the processing of network packets, as evidenced by the stack trace which includes function calls such as ath11k dp tx, ath11k mac op tx, ieee80211 handle wake tx queue, and ieee80211 tx prepare skb.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
