Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
The Linux kernel’s drm/msm/a6xx subsystem contains an issue related to memory allocation. The
adreno show object() function can cause a trap due to incorrect memory allocation practices. Specifically, it re-allocates a pointer passed to it when the data is ascii85 encoded, requiring the data to be allocated using kvmalloc() instead of state kcalloc(). A previous change introduced a memory leak, which has been addressed by adding a kvfree() call. The issue stems from a prior attempt to replace kcalloc() with kvzalloc() in state kcalloc(), intended to reduce allocation failures during GPU state capture.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
