CVE-2023-54225

None

No severity ratings or metrics are available. When they are, we'll update the corresponding info on the page.
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description The Linux kernel code managing GSI channel transactions experienced transaction reference count underflows during shutdown. This occurred after a transition from spinlock-protected linked lists to ring buffer indexes. The root cause was identified as unused transactions being committed during modem shutdown cleanup, specifically when zeroing modem filter and routing table entries. The issue arises when hashed table memory is cleared even when hashing is not supported, leading to unused transactions. This patch prevents clearing hashed tables when hashing is not supported, thereby avoiding the reference count underflow. It is noted that an issue with properly freeing unused transactions in error cases may still exist, but this patch addresses the originally reported underflows.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
