Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
The Linux kernel contains a flaw within the ASoC codecs and tx-macro components. A slab-out-of-bounds read issue was identified through KASAN (Kernel Address Sanitizer) during syzkaller testing, specifically in the
regcache flat read function. The root cause was identified as an unnecessary 32-bit decimator, which was resolved by limiting the variable to a short type u8. This issue could potentially lead to system instability or unexpected behavior.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
