Description A flaw exists in the Linux kernel’s regulator core, specifically within the regulator dev lookup() function, leading to an unbalanced device tree node reference count. This occurs because the node’s reference count is incremented during of parse phandle() but is not decremented using of node put() after use. This can result in a memory leak and potential instability. The error message indicates an unbalanced reference count for the overlay node '/i2c/pmic@62/regulators/exten'.
