CVE-2023-54287

CVSS v2.0

4.6

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/Au:S/C:N/I:N/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel versions prior to 6.1.1+g56321e101aca #1
Description The Linux kernel contains a flaw related to interrupt request handling in the tty serial driver for the imx platform. Specifically, pending USR interrupts may occur before the UART port is fully initialized, leading to a kernel panic when using the Jailhouse hypervisor. This issue arises when transitioning between Jailhouse cell states, where the second Linux console may not properly quiesce the UART before cell destruction, resulting in pending interrupts that trigger the problem upon cell restart. The fix involves disabling the Ageing Timer interrupt in UCR2, mirroring the existing behavior in UCR1.
Recommendations Update to Linux kernel version 6.1.1+g56321e101aca #1 or a later version to address this issue.
