Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Zack Katz Links in Captions versions n/a through 1.2
Description
The issue is related to improper neutralization of input during web page generation, which allows for Stored Cross-site Scripting (XSS). This means that an attacker can inject malicious scripts into the application, potentially leading to unauthorized actions on behalf of other users.
Recommendations
For versions n/a through 1.2, consider disabling the Links in Captions feature until a patch is available to prevent potential exploitation. Restrict access to the feature to minimize the risk of Stored XSS attacks. Avoid using the feature to generate web pages with user-supplied input until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
