CVE-2024-13794
CVSS v3.1
5.3
Medium
| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:N/A:N |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
The WP Ghost (Hide My WP Ghost) – Security & Firewall plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 5.3.02
Description
The issue is due to the plugin not properly restricting the "/wp-register.php" path, making it possible for unauthenticated attackers to discover the hidden login page location. This was discovered when fuzzing a WordPress site with the plugin, and a wordlist containing "/wp-register.php" caused a 302, exposing the login page.
Recommendations
For versions up to, and including, 5.3.02, consider restricting access to the "/wp-register.php" path to minimize the risk of exploitation. As a temporary workaround, consider disabling the plugin until a patch is available.
