CVE-2024-13464

CVSS v3.1

6.4

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Library Bookshelves plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 5.9
Description The issue arises from insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes in the plugin's 'bookshelf' shortcode. This allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access and above to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages. These scripts will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.
Recommendations For versions up to, and including, 5.9, consider disabling the 'bookshelf' shortcode until a patch is available to prevent exploitation. Restrict access to the plugin's functionality to minimize the risk of arbitrary web script injection. Update to a version that includes a fix for this issue once it becomes available.
