Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Gumlet Video plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 1.0.3
Description The issue is related to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the plugin's 'gumlet' shortcode due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes. This allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access and above to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.
Recommendations For Gumlet Video plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 1.0.3, update to a version higher than 1.0.3 to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the 'gumlet' shortcode to minimize the risk of exploitation. Additionally, restrict contributor-level access and above to prevent authenticated attackers from injecting web scripts.
