Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Reset plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 1.6
Description
The issue is due to missing or incorrect nonce validation on the
reset db page() function, making it possible for unauthenticated attackers to reset several tables in the database, such as comments, themes, plugins, and more, via a forged request. This can be achieved if the attackers can trick a site administrator into performing an action, such as clicking on a link.Recommendations
For versions up to, and including, 1.6, consider disabling the
reset db page() function until a patch is available to prevent exploitation. Additionally, restrict access to the Reset plugin to minimize the risk of unauthorized database resets. Avoid using the Reset plugin until the issue is resolved.Fix
