Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Effectmatrix Total Video Converter Command Line (TVCC) version 2.50
Description
A Structured Exception Handler based buffer overflow issue exists when a specially crafted file is passed to the
-ff parameter. This occurs due to improper handling of file input with overly long characters, leading to memory corruption, which can result in arbitrary code execution or denial of service.Recommendations
For Effectmatrix Total Video Converter Command Line (TVCC) version 2.50, consider avoiding the use of the
-ff parameter with untrusted input until a patch is available. As a temporary workaround, restrict the length of characters passed to the -ff parameter to prevent memory corruption. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.Exploit
