Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Bit Assist plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 1.5.2
Description
The issue allows authenticated attackers, with Subscriber-level access and above, to extract sensitive information from the database via time-based SQL Injection. This is possible due to insufficient escaping on the user-supplied
id parameter and lack of sufficient preparation on the existing SQL query, enabling attackers to append additional SQL queries into already existing queries.Recommendations
For versions up to, and including, 1.5.2, update to a version that fixes the SQL Injection issue to prevent exploitation. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the
id parameter in the affected plugin to minimize the risk of exploitation.Fix
