CVE-2024-13676

CVSS v3.1

6.5

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Categorized Gallery Plugin versions up to, and including, 2.0
Description The issue arises from insufficient escaping on the user-supplied field attribute of the image gallery shortcode and lack of sufficient preparation on the existing SQL query. This allows authenticated attackers, with Contributor-level access and above, to append additional SQL queries into already existing queries, potentially extracting sensitive information from the database.
Recommendations For versions up to, and including, 2.0, consider disabling the image gallery shortcode until a patch is available to prevent exploitation. Restrict access to the field attribute of the image gallery shortcode to minimize the risk of SQL injection attacks. As a temporary workaround, limit Contributor-level access and above to reduce the potential for authenticated attackers to exploit this issue. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
