CVE-2024-13736

CVSS v3.1

6.1

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Pure Chat – Live Chat & More! plugin for WordPress versions up to, and including, 2.31
Description The issue concerns Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the purechatWidgetName parameter due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This allows unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.
Recommendations For versions up to, and including, 2.31, consider disabling the purechatWidgetName parameter until a patch is available to prevent exploitation. Restrict access to the plugin's functionality to minimize the risk of arbitrary web script injection. Update to a version later than 2.31 once available to fully resolve the issue.
