CVE-2022-49069

CVSS v3.1

5.5

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel versions prior to 5.15.30
Description A general protection fault was observed in the Linux kernel when running WebGL Aquarium for an extended duration. The issue is related to the drm/amd/display component and the dcn30 internal validate bw function. The fault occurs due to a lack of FPU protection, which can cause a context switch and potential loss of VBA context when DRM debug logs are enabled. The CalculateSwathWidth function is also involved in the issue.
Recommendations To resolve the issue, update to a Linux kernel version newer than 5.15.30. As a temporary workaround, consider disabling DRM debug logs to minimize the risk of exploitation. Additionally, restricting access to the drm/amd/display component can help mitigate the issue until a patch is available.
