A read out of bounds issue has been identified in the Linux kernel's LZ4 decompression routine. This occurs when the compressed data is corrupted, leading to a use-after-free (UAF) condition. The issue arises during partial decoding when the output buffer is filled or an offset for a following match cannot be read. The problem has been reported by KASAN and fixed by the lz4 upstream.
