CVSS v3.1

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description A issue in the Linux kernel has been identified, specifically in the mxser module. The problem occurs when the Line Status Register (LSR) is 0xff in the activate() function, which can lead to an error and a potential buffer leak. Normally, when activate() fails, the buffer is not freed because shutdown() is not called. This issue is resolved by properly freeing the buffer in a designated label.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
