Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
A use-after-free issue has been identified in the Linux kernel, specifically in the ath11k module, which handles wireless networking for certain Qualcomm chips (QCA6390/WCN6855). The problem arises from a change in the WMI command sequence that was intended to fix a firmware crash but ended up skipping peer delete operations. This leads to a dangling pointer issue when the peer->sta is not set to NULL and is used later, resulting in a use-after-free warning from KASAN. The issue is triggered when a station disconnects from an AP.
Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
