CVE-2022-49286

CVSS v3.1

4.7

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:H/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description A vulnerability in the Linux kernel has been resolved. The issue was related to the exposure of the chip->tpm mutex in the tpm-space.c file, which could lead to a NULL dereference on the mutex. This occurred because the tpm2 del space() function was missed during the conversion to remove nested TPM operations. Although the race window for this issue was very small, there have been reports of it being exploited in practice.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
