Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
A potential memory leak was found in the Linux kernel, specifically in the r871xu drv init() function. This issue occurs when r8712 init drv sw() fails, causing memory allocated by r8712 alloc io queue() in r8712 usb dvobj init() to not be properly released. The memory leak is due to the lack of a call to r8712 free io queue() in r8712 usb dvobj deinit(). To fix this, r8712 free io queue() should be called in r8712 usb dvobj deinit(). Additionally, the code has been modified to move r8712 usb dvobj deinit() into r871xu dev remove() and remove r8712 free io queue() from r8712 free drv sw() for better code understanding.
Recommendations
