CVE-2022-49348

CVSS v3.1

5.5

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description A vulnerability in the Linux kernel has been identified, related to the ext4 file system. The issue arises from the misuse of the EXT4 FC REPLAY bit in the superblock field s state, which can be set by a maliciously corrupted superblock. This can bypass sanity checks and trigger a BUG() in ext4 es cache extent(). The problem is due to the historical naming of s mount state and the incorrect use of EXT4 FC REPLAY instead of the ext4 {set, clear, test} mount flag() inline functions.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
