5.5

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description A issue in the Linux kernel has been identified where the mdp5 mixer release function does not check for an error return when acquiring the modeset lock, potentially leading to a NULL dereference error. The mdp5 get global state function may return -EDEADLK when a deadlock is detected. To prevent this, the mdp5 mixer release function should be modified to check for and propagate any error returned.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
