CVSS v3.1

5.5

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description A vulnerability in the Linux kernel has been resolved, related to the m can core. The issue involves the handling of timestamps for received CAN frames. The m can core uses 16-bit wide timestamps, which are then passed to RX-offload. However, RX-offload is designed to handle 32-bit timestamps correctly. To fix this, a patch has been applied to shift the timestamps to full 32 bits before passing them to RX-offload.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
