CVSS v3.1

5.5

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description A issue in the Linux kernel has been identified, related to the 9p protocol. The problem occurs because the protocol version check is performed after obtaining a fid, which can lead to a fid refcount leak in the v9fs vfs get link function. To address this, the version check is moved to an earlier point.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
