CVE-2022-49725

CVSS v3.1

5.5

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description A issue in the Linux kernel has been resolved, related to the i40e driver. The problem occurred when the PF reset and ethtool -t commands were executed in quick succession, sometimes leading to a panic. This happened because the i40e vsi close function was called by both prep for reset and diag test, and if the second call started before the first one finished, it would cause a crash. The fix involves adding a check to diag test to prevent offline tests from starting if the PF is in reset.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
