Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
A NULL pointer dereference error in the Linux kernel has been resolved. The issue occurred in the
btbcm get board name() function, where devm kstrdup() can return a NULL pointer on failure, but this returned value was not checked. This could lead to a kernel NULL pointer dereference error.Recommendations
For the affected Linux kernel versions, add a NULL check in the
btbcm get board name() function to handle the kernel NULL pointer dereference error.
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.Exploit
