CVE-2024-57998

CVSS v3.1

7.8

High

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description A buffer overflow issue in the Linux kernel has been resolved. The problem occurred in the read freq() function, where a frequency index check was added to an assert function to prevent reading a frequency out of the opp->rates[] table. This was necessary for the dev pm opp find freq exact indexed() and dev pm opp find freq ceil/floor indexed() functions. A secondary parameter was added to the assert function for clock index checks when called from the indexed find functions.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
