Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel has been resolved, related to the nilfs2 file system. The issue involves error handling in directory manipulation routines, specifically in
nilfs set link() and nilfs delete entry(), which can lead to BUG ON check failures when nilfs prepare chunk() returns an error. This error can occur due to metadata corruption or other reasons. The problem has been identified through fuzzing tests by syzbot.Recommendations
