Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
The issue is related to an integer overflow bug in the binfmt flat module of the Linux kernel on 32-bit systems. The bug occurs when calculating
full data using the formula full data = data len + relocs * sizeof(unsigned long), which could result in incorrect calculations if the "relocs" count is not properly checked. Most sizes and counts are capped at 256MB to prevent integer overflows, but the "relocs" count needs to be checked as well.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
