CVE-2024-58011

CVSS v3.1

5.5

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description A vulnerability in the Linux kernel has been resolved. The issue occurs because not all devices have an ACPI companion fwnode, which can result in a NULL pointer dereference in the skl int3472 get acpi buffer() function. This can theoretically happen when a user manually binds one of the int3472 drivers to another i2c/platform device through sysfs. A check has been added to prevent this issue by returning -ENODEV when adev is NULL.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
