CVSS v3.1

5.5

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description A potential integer overflow issue has been identified in the nilfs2 file system, specifically in the nilfs fiemap() function. This issue arises from the calculation performed by nilfs bmap lookup contig() within nilfs fiemap(), which may lead to an integer overflow due to a left shift of blkbits. Although the occurrence of this issue is highly unlikely, a mitigation measure has been implemented to prevent it. The issue was discovered by the Linux Verification Center using a static analysis tool called SVACE.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
