CVE-2025-21779

CVSS v3.1

5.5

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description A vulnerability in the Linux kernel has been resolved, related to KVM's handling of Hyper-V's SEND IPI hypercalls. The issue occurs when the local APIC is emulated in userspace, and Hyper-V enlightenments are exposed to the guest without an in-kernel local APIC, leading to a NULL-pointer dereference. The vulnerability is fixed by rejecting SEND IPI and SEND IPI EX hypercalls if the local APIC is not emulated by KVM.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
