CVE-2025-21783

CVSS v3.1

5.5

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description A crash issue in the Linux kernel has been resolved. The problem occurs when the gpiochip get ngpios() function is called, which uses chip *() macros to print messages. However, these macros rely on gpiodev being initialized and set, which is not the case when called via bgpio init(). This results in a crash due to a NULL pointer dereference. The fix involves replacing the chip *() macros with the respective dev *() ones to avoid the crash.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
