Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
A potential issue in the Linux kernel related to the rtlwifi module has been identified. The problem arises from an unused function,
check buddy priv, and a global list of private data structures that was introduced but not properly utilized. Although a lock for this list exists, it is never used, leading to potential memory access issues when a probe fails and the private data is not removed from the list. This could result in a race condition and list corruption during a second probe.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
