CVE-2025-68763

CVSS v2.0

4.6

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/Au:S/C:N/I:N/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description A flaw exists in the Linux kernel's crypto subsystem, specifically within the starfive implementation. The sg nents for len function's return value was incorrectly assigned to an unsigned long, leading to negative error codes being misinterpreted as large positive integers. This could potentially lead to buffer overflows. The issue is addressed by adding error checking to the starfive hash digest function and returning immediately upon failure.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
